Starting a business is overwhelming. Let me take some of the guesswork out of the process by telling you about my favorite business resources.

Flodesk – Email Service Provider

Flodesk has made creating emails easy. I have set up workflows in Flodesk to streamline my email marketing. The workflows are my favorite part of Flodesk. I am also a big fan of the landing pages. The landing pages make it easy to start creating an email list before having a published website. No one said you had to have a live website to start your email list. Flodesk also has pop-up and embeddable signup templates.

Honeybook – Client Management

Honeybook has helped me automate and streamline my client management workflows. With Honeybook, you are able to put in your own contract, emails, packages, and more into your client management processes. By putting all of your client management in one spot, you will save time and be able to earn more money by working on providing services to your clients. You can also customize your invoices and proposals with your brand images and colors. Giving your clients a branded experience.

Asana – Project Management

Asana has been a game-changer for me! I organize all of my website launches, content ideas, and content strategy inside of Asana. If you have a team you can assign tasks to team members within the platform. You have the option to use a calendar format, a list format, or a board format. The premium option also gives you the option to use a timeline format to help you manage your projects.

Google Drive – Document Organization

I wish I could show you the look on my face when I realized we did not own a computer with a spreadsheet or document software. My husband suggested starting with Google docs. I haven’t turned back since. Google Drive has made it easy for me to access documents from my phone and my laptop. This has helped me organize my calendar, keep up with financial numbers, and write content on the go.

Grammarly – Proofreading made easy.

As a business owner, you are putting out a lot of content. Whether you’re writing product descriptions or emails, Grammarly can help you proofread your content. If you’ve ever felt cross-eyed after a long day of writing to find that you misspelled multiple words, you need Grammarly. Grammarly can also help you with the tone of your writing and punctuation usage. By getting real-time feedback on your writing, you can write and create content more efficiently.

Interact – Lead-Generating Quiz

Looking for a good lead generator for your email list? Look no further than Interact. By making a fun and entertaining quiz, you can help build a community and add a few new email addresses to your list. Interact is easy to use and easy to embed in your website or link to from your website. If you’re looking for an example check out my coffee branding quiz.

Social Squares – Stock Photography

I have never been great at taking pictures. As I have thought about starting different businesses over the years, I have always lacked in the photo department. Until I found Social Squares. Social Squares has helped me to find relevant and beautiful stock photos. I have used stock photography on my website and on my social media. These pictures have created a clean a crisp look for both.

Canva – Image Creation

Canva has helped me create a logo and social media graphics. Using Canva makes it easy to upload images to create graphics. I use Canva to create my educational graphics, carousels, and inspirational quotes. There are elements inside of the platform you can use to create on brand graphics. You can also add your branding into the platform so your brand colors are easily accessible.

Showit – Website Host

I tried to create a website one time. It required buying a template because I have 0.00 experience in coding. Showit has made it easy for me to design a beautiful website. This is a true drag and drop website with all of the bells and whistles. There are three options depending on whether you need a blog and your blogging needs. The Showit team has been responsive to any issues I have had since launching my site. They make having a website as easy as possible.

Plann – Social Media Management

When I first started Katelin Created, I set up my social media accounts and started posting. My posts were random and there was no strategy behind them at all. Plann has helped me to dive into a social media strategy. I have also been able to post regularly with their post automation. Plann lets you see what your grid will look like, write captions, and assign posts to a strategy category.

The Contract Shop – Legal

One of the main reasons I put off starting a business for so long is the legal side of business. I was scared to set up my business wrong. I wasn’t sure I could afford a lawyer. Then I found the contract shop. There are so many resources that will help you start or grow your business. Whether you are looking for information to start an LLC, or a contract, or a privacy policy. The Contract Shop will help you be confident in your business.

Other resources I am trying and will let you know more about.

InShot – Video Editor

I haven’t used InShot as much as I thought I would. I have edited videos within the platform I am posted of in iMovie for longer videos.

Tailwind – Pinterest Scheduling

So far, I am a big fan of Tailwind. I am working on upping my Pinterest game and Tailwind is a big part of that.
