Today, I want to share with you books that every woman in business should read.

Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts. by Brene Brown

I have read several of Brene Brown’s books. Dare to Lead is one of my favorites. This book is written for business leaders. This book shows us how to be a leader instead of a boss. A leader works with others rather than shouting orders. If you manage anyone, this book will help you create an engaged and motivated team. Creating a culture starts at the top. Owning your own business means you are leading your team. Brene Brown is here to help you do that.

I will also give a special shoutout to Braving the Wilderness which is another favorite of mine.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert

If you’re looking for inspiration for your content creation, read this book. Big Magic is an easy read that will inspire you to take time to be creative. Gilbert discusses being an author, the writing process, and how ideas can come and go. This book will help you pull out the creativity within you. This creativity doesn’t have to be perfect. Remember, you can always edit your writing, but this book will help you with the important point of creativity. Starting.

Get Good with Money: Ten Simple Steps to Becoming Financially Whole by Tiffany Aliche The Budgetnista

As someone with an accounting background, I find books about money interesting and educational. When you own a business, you need to understand your finances. You can have big goals to own a 7-figure business without being responsible with your personal finances. Get Good with Money is here to help you have financial wholeness. By being financially whole, you can feel confident in your financial position rather than being disorganized with a large income. Tiffany’s 10 step process will help you find wealth through financial wholeness. Yes, this is a personal finance book, but the concepts can help you with your business finances.

Alert! This is not a get-rich-quick book. This book gives you a simple way of managing your finances.

Believe IT: How to Go from Underestimated to Unstoppable by Jamie Kern Lima

If you’ve ever felt like you weren’t good enough. You don’t look like every other successful woman. Or you’ve been told no too many times to count. Read this book. Jamie Kern Lima takes you through her journey of doubting everything to founding growing a well-known makeup brand. This book will help you to trust your gut when it comes to business decisions. You will also learn how being authentic is more important than having a good product. As someone starting a new business, I resonated with this book. This book helped me to know I don’t have to look a certain way or be a someone I’m not to have a successful business.

Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo

So, you start a task and three weeks later it’s still on your to-do list. But you’re super ambitious. There’s just that one task holding you back from greatness. Marie Forleo is here to help you. There was a time where I would have blown this book off because of the title. Then I had several major life changes happen at one time. I went from being secure and supported to being alone before I turned 21. When I read this title I realized how true it is. Everything is figureoutable. The outcome may not be what you planned for and things may not go the way you wanted. But in the end, you figure out how to keep going. You find a way to complete the task or accomplish that goal. You figure out how to make it happen. This is what I believe Marie wants you to learn and lean into with your life.

Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter And How To Make The Most Of Them Now by Meg Jay

Yes, this book is about your 20’s, but The Defining Decade can teach anyone about their motivations. I read this book at twenty-six. I remember reading this book in an airport on the way to run a half marathon. Years later, this book has stuck with me. Defining the Decade does not cover every option for life in your 20’s, but it will show you the decisions you make during this decade will affect the rest of your life. As someone who wasn’t sure they wanted children, I am thankful I read this book. You may feel the same way. The goal of this book is not to change your mind, but to help you know that your 20’s matter. Your life and career don’t start at 30.

This is a great book for anyone that is starting a new business. When starting a new business you may not know how to create a marketable brand. Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson

Do you ever feel stuck? You want to stay in your comfort zone, but you know taking risk will help your business grow. Who Moved My Cheese? is all about getting out of your comfort zone. As an introvert, this book has helped me know that I need to be alert and ready to pivot when the time comes. I will never forget the day I was handed this book to read at work. This book may be a short and easy read, but it packs a big punch.

Note: There is also a very good video that will tell you the story behind this book.
